The Institute of Communication and Development (ICD)
Our Goal
The Institute of Communication and Development (ICD)
The Institute of Communication and Development (ICD) is the dedicated skill development and training wing of GNSS. It serves as a platform for leadership growth, professional excellence, and community empowerment. ICD focuses on equipping individuals, professionals, and emerging leaders with the knowledge, practical skills, and values needed to become effective agents of change in their communities and organizations.
Skill development is vital for personal and societal progress. It not only enhances employability and productivity but also builds confidence, fosters innovation, and promotes self-reliance. Through targeted training programs, ICD nurtures talents, hones abilities, and bridges the gap between potential and performance—preparing tomorrow’s leaders to address real-world challenges with competence, creativity, and integrity.
Leadership Development Program (LDP)
Through the Leadership Development Program, participants are challenged to grow, learn to mobilize communities, and apply principles of ethical, servant leadership in real-world contexts. The LDP equips NGO workers, youth leaders, and community influencers with:
-
Visionary and strategic leadership training.
-
Courses on financial management, SHG creation, marketplace engagement, and rural impact strategies.
-
Mentorship and capacity-building from seasoned trainers.
-
Residential sessions for intensive, focused development.
Seminars, Workshops & Capacity Building
GNSS regularly organizes seminars, workshops, and orientation sessions to strengthen community leadership, enhance program effectiveness, and build knowledge in key social impact areas. These gatherings create opportunities for learning, networking, inspiration, and practical growth, extending the impact of GNSS far beyond classroom walls.
Some of our recent efforts include:
-
Women’s Empowerment and Leadership Seminars for tailoring tutors and learners.
-
Embroidery workshops to enhance the skills of tailoring trainers.
-
Business and entrepreneurship training, such as the 'Business Momentum' seminar designed for small business owners and self-employed professionals.
Vermicompost Training Program
This program trains farmers and local community members in eco-friendly, sustainable organic waste management through vermicomposting. Graduates of this program often start their own vermicompost units, contributing to both environmental health and economic sustainability in their communities. Conducted in various villages:
-
Participants learn to set up and manage compost beds independently.
-
Both theoretical and hands-on sessions are offered to the participants.
-
It promotes sustainable agriculture and helps reduce chemical usage in farming.
